"In the Battle of Bastogne I was awarded a Bronze Star when an attack of approximately 14 tanks and several enemy soldiers. I found a discraded Bazooka and a shell with bent fins. I straightened out the fins, fired the Bazooka, and disabled the tank. I was credited with wounding or killing 10 of the enemy."
"I had the privilege of being responsible for the bomb shelter tunnels under Hitler's retreat in Berchtesgaden, Germany. It consisted of his and Eva Braun's living quarters, medical center, communication center, etc."
